Skills and Equipment
On the following pages more information about the skills and equipment on the fields of power electronics and electrical machines can be found.
Power Converter Systems
Various power converter systems in different performance classes have been developed at the Institute of Electrical Engineering. They can be used for a large range of applications, e.g. as drive converters for feeding electrical machines, mains converters (active front-end), DC-DC controllers and as connections for electrical energy storage systems.

Motor Test Benches
For measuring electrical machines, numerous motor test benches are available at the ETI. In particular, at the test field on the Campus East, test benches have been set up at the Chair of "Hybrid Electric Vehicles" whose performance data are specifically designed for modern traction drives..

Semiconductor Characterization
At the ETI, a test bench was developed for measuring semiconductor power components. It is a fully automated, LabVIEW-based test bench where the switching-on and switching-off processes of the semiconductor components can be evaluated and their loss processes analysed.
